Calicut University administration established the “Directorate of Admissions (DoA)” in 2014 (University order no: 3271/2014CU dated 31-03-2014) with a view to streamline the entire admission process in the University Teaching departments in the campus and all the Government, Aided and Self-financing Colleges affiliated to the University. The main objective of DoA is to make centralized admissions to various courses offered by the University and its affiliated Colleges in a systematic, transparent and student friendly manner, following all Reservation Rules. The major task of DoA is Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for Under Graduate and Post Graduate programmes which offers facility for online submission of single application for admission to various Degree and Post Graduation programmes in multiple Colleges affilated to the University. CAP helps students to submit applications to affiliated Colleges of their choice through simple online steps. This hassle-free process is time saving, cost effective and ensure transparency in admission. Moreover, admission through Entrance examination is being conducted for three UG and nineteen PG courses.
In 2016 admissions, DoA with a staff strength of one Joint Registrar, one section officer, six assistants, two supporting staff along with the assistantce of software team from Calicut University Computer Centre (CUCC) undertook the mammoth task of allotting 53737 UG seats and 6541 PG seats from 118420 and 16834 applicants respectively following all Admission and reservation rules. Admissions are carried out to 114 number of UG programmes in 279 Colleges and 114 number of PG programmes in 159 Colleges and various University Departments.
As the first Director of newly constitute DoA, I assure that all effort will be made to ensure fair, transparent admission to Afzal-Ul-Ulama preliminary, UG, PG, B.Ed., M.Ed., M.Phil and Ph.D admissions of Calicut University.
